Help! WP is building me ridiculous…

I’ve been likely in circles trying to find a basic and functional negligible topic.

I started off with Astra, and I preferred aspects of how it customizes, and it appears great and functions good on laptop but the dropdown menus refuse to perform on cell. This is especially infuriating bc the most important cause I am migrating my static html material to WP is so it renders responsively across gadgets.

All I want is anything thoroughly clean and simple but are unable to discover a person that strikes the proper harmony. Is it hopeless making an attempt to find a free topic that does what I want? I never brain spending a acceptable price, but I also do not want to pay out for anything that in the finish could possibly not meet up with my requirements.

I essentially just want to present photos in a one column with easy navigation, all of it established from a simple white background with no border strains. I can obtain themes which do this OR that, but none so far that do this AND that. Thanks for any assistance!
